Project Manager – Acquisition & Development

Location: Safety Harbor, Florida or Remote

Reports to: Director of Operations & Project Management

Type: Full Time

Travel: up to 25%

Role Description

Working in a dynamic, collaborative team and reporting directly to the Director of Operations & Project Management, you will be directly responsible for the consistent management of multi-technology distributed project commercial and contractual due diligence activities to successfully complete project acquisitions. Once a project has been acquired, you will work with the EPC Project Management and Technical team in support of contractual activities through project construction, up to and including project financing.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive contractual reviews and evaluations and document actions via system tools/checklists.
  • Participate in third party contract negotiations where required.
  • Confirm project risks are addressed and conditions precedent met by obtaining fact-based evidence to close-out open items.
  • Identify possible project issues and work with the technical project team and/or external resources to quickly address and resolve potential transactional issues.
  • Manage title, permitting, tax, insurance, and other project related compliance requirements with support from the legal project team.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including developers, contractors, off-takers, utilities, and other third-parties.
  • Ensure project information is timely and accurately filed and maintained within the Smartsheet tool and the company’s shared drive.
  • Work closely with the funding team to help coordinate loan and/or sale-leaseback transactions with the funding source.
  • Work closely with the legal project team to support lender/lessor documentation requirements.
  • Manage insurance, tax, cost verifications and other project related compliance requirements.
  • Leverage relationships developed during diligence and construction to ease the collection of third-party consents and assignments, and other required documents for financing.
  • Support EPC and Technical Project Management team.
  • Support IC/board reporting activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory/legislative trends and policy changes, as well as current and future market conditions
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by the Calibrant senior management team.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent required; formal project management and/or business process improvement training a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the renewable energy field, preferably with distributed generation projects.
  • Experience with reviewing and understanding financial contracts and/or agreements.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite, especially spreadsheet skills; familiarity with Smartsheet a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical orientation.
  • Financial aptitude with advanced cost/benefit analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral, presentation).
